The York & Lancaster Regiment 1st Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Helmet Plate c. 1883-1901, in silver plate the crowned star pattern back plate with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet a gilt and silver rose, double title scroll below ‘The York & Lancaster Regiment’ and ‘1st Volunteer Battalion’, complete with all three lug fasteners, the back plate with three extra holes but would appear to be a contemporary assembly, very good condition £160-200
