Arthur Challinor enlisted in the 3rd North Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery at Stafford on 26 April 1911, and served in the Territorial Force for 5 years and 5 days, of which 1 year and 27 days were spent abroad on the Western Front. He was discharged on 1 May 1916.
