Pair: Sergeant W. Tucker, 10th Hussars

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, El-Teb-Tamaai (914 Sergt. W. Tucker. 10th Rl. Hussars) pawnbroker’s mark in obverse field, minor edge bruising; Khedive’s Star, 1884, unnamed as issued, remnants of lacquer, generally very fine or better (2) £200-240

William Tucker was born in Bath, Somerset, and attested for the 10th Hussars at the city of his birth, in September 1866. He served with the Regiment during the Second Afghan War 1878-80 (entitled to medal with ‘Ali Musjid’ clasp), advanced to Corporal in July 1881, and to Sergeant in April 1883. He was discharged 19 October 1886, having served 20 years and 40 days with the Colours.
