Edward VI (1547-1553), Pattern Half-Sovereign, Crown or Coronation medal, 1547, frosted Tudor rose, crown with frosted caul above and er at sides, rev. insignia potentissimi regis anglie, rosette and pellet stops, date below, 28mm, 4.63g/1h (WR 4; MI 55/3, this piece, recorded when owned by J. Rashleigh; obv. as rev. of N 1950-1). Hairline striking crack at 2 o’clock extending across two thirds of flan, otherwise nearly extremely fine and excessively rare in gold (£5,000-7,000)
