Edward III (1327-1377), Third period, Quarter-noble, mm. cross pattée, shield within double lined tressure, rev. large e in centre of floreate cross within double lined tressure, chevron barred as both sides, 1.89g/4h (cf. Doubleday 5; N 1112; S 1483). Obverse from rusted die, small spademark both sides, slightly crimped, otherwise very fine, rare (£350-400)
