William I (1066-1087), Penny, Canterbury, Ælfred, ielfred on cntl, 1.26g/3h (Harris, SCMB 1983, 150; cf. BMC 302; N 845; S 1254). Some weakness in legend on one side, otherwise extremely fine and virtually as struck with most attractive olive-grey tone, very rare (£400-500)
