Solidus, 430-40, Constantinople, diademed, helmeted and cuirassed three-quarter facing bust, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman spearing a fallen enemy, rev. Constantinopolis enthroned left, holding globus cruciger in right hand, sceptre in left, left foot resting on prow, 4.49g/6h (RIC 257). Minor scratches in obverse field, otherwise extremely fine (£200-250)
