James II (1437-1460), Groat, type III, Edinburgh, mm. crown, from a Stirling obv. die with lis each side of neck, double lis stops and double annulet stops at end of legend, reversed cs for ds on rev., 3.49g/7h (B 38a, cf. fig.540A; SCBI 35, 719-20, same obv. die; S 5241/5235). Good fine, extremely rare (£500-600)
