James VI (1567-1625), Half-Merk or Noble, 1572, mm. plain cross, 7.04g/11h (B 2; S 5478). Two small striking splits, legends flat in places and collector’s mark ‘4’ inked to right of crown on obverse, otherwise about very fine (£90-120)
