Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Orange Free State, Defence of Mafeking, Transvaal (195 Tpr. M. Lukeet, Protect. Regt. F.F.) mounted in a glazed display frame with a Siege of Mafeking Banknote, 10 Shillings, March 1900, no. 586, Urry and Greener signatures, nearly very fine £1200-1600

M. Lukeet was wounded at Mafeking on 14 October 1899. The encounter with the Boer forces on this day was the first real engagement of the siege which had begun just two days earlier. The casualties amounted to some 10 killed and 16 wounded.
