George William McGuffie was born in 1873, and attested for the Seaforth Highlanders in 1887. Initially serving as a Piper with the 1st Battalion, he transferred to the 2nd Battalion for service in India. He died of a gunshot wound at Ferozepore, 19 January 1896.
