John Redfearn was born in Bakewell, Derbyshire, in 1782, and attested for the 1st Foot Guards at Nottingham on 30 May 1800. He served with the Regiment in the Peninsula, and was discharged on 21 May 1825, after 25 years and 58 days’ service. He died in London on 28 March 1865.
