Charles Edward Edmiston was born in Hampshire, in October 1879. He joined the Royal Navy, as Domestic 3rd Class, in November 1897. He advanced to Cook’s Mate in August 1899, and Chief Ship’s Cook in May 1914. He served on various Shore Establishments (awarded L.S. & G.C. Medal 1912), before his discharge as Chief Petty Officer Cook to Pension, 17 October 1919.

Amy Johanna De Meillon was born in Hankey, South Africa, November 1921. She enlisted as a Cook in the S.W.A.A.F., 18 November 1942, and was discharged 11 March 1946.
