William Frank Robbins was born in Chichester, Sussex in July 1881, and enlisted in the Royal Marines in London on 10 August 1898. Advanced Gunner, September 1899, he served in H.M.S. Golaith from 27 March 1900, and was engaged in operations during the China War from 25 August to 31 December 1900. He continued in the Royal Marines and served during the Great War in H.M.S. Agincourt from 7 August 1914 until 31 March 1919. He was finally discharged on 14 August 1920, after 21 years and 28 days’ service, and died 20 July 1960.

Sold with the recipient’s original Royal Marines Certificate of Discharge and three photographs of the recipient.
