India General Service 1895-1902, 1 clasp, Punjab Frontier 1897-98 (4020 Pte. E. Stroud 4th Dragoon Gds) with regimental cap badge, minor edge bruising, very fine £100-140

Edward Matthew Stroud was born in Paddington, London. He served as a Volunteer in the 5th Royal Fusiliers prior to attesting for service with the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards, 6 July 1892. He served with the Regiment in India, 12 September 1894 - 14 October 1904, before transferring to the 7th Dragoon Guards, February 1906. He was discharged to Pension, 15 November 1913, after 21 years and 133 days service.

In later life he was employed as a Porter for the London Postal Service in Paddington. He died in June 1949.
