Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (...Pte. C. Davison. 2/Hiigh: L.I.) pitting from Star, edge bruising, nearly very fine £140-180

Christopher Davison was born in Northumberland in 1856 and attested for the Highland Light Infantry at Durham on 2 August 1880. He served with the 2nd Battalion in Egypt, and took part in the night march from Kassassin and the subsequent assault on Tel-el-Kebir, 13 September 1882. He was discharged on account of disability caused by sunstroke, 1 May 1883, after 2 years and 273 days’ service, and his medical and service papers are all stamped ‘Deceased’.
