Roland Douglas Broyd Todd received a commission as Pilot Officer with the Training Branch of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve on 11 February 1947, and was promoted to Flying Officer on 11 February 1950. He twice had his service extended by years, in February 1954 and February 1958, and resigned, retaining the rank of Flying Officer, on 5 February 1968.
