Michael Agar was born at Stourbridge, Worcestershire, on 18 February 1928, and enlisted into the Royal Marines on 13 November 1945, being posted to the Chatham Division. According to his record of service he served in Palestine with 45 Commando, 3 Commando Brigade, and in Malaya and the Canal Zone with 40 Commando, 3 Commando Brigade. In the period that encompassed the operations in the Arabian Peninsula, he saw service with 4 Raiding Squadron, 42 Commando, and with 45 Commando, before returning to 42 Command for service in Borneo, March 1964 to September 1965. He was awarded the L.S. & G.C. medal in April 1961, and was discharged at Eastney in the rank of Sergeant on 18 February 1968. Sold with copied record of service and Death Certificate, dated 20 February 1981.
