William Siddons, a native of Sheffield, was born in June 1897 and joined the Tyneside Division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in October 1915. Rated Able Seaman in February 1916, he joined Hood Battalion of the Royal Naval Division in France that September, although for a short period of time he was attached to 6th Entrenching Battalion. He was subsequently killed in action on 5 February 1917. The son of Mrs. Charlotte L. Siddons, of 34 Ball Road, Hillsbro, Sheffield, he was buried in Queens Cemetery, Bucquoy; sold with copied service record.
