Percy Walter Jennings was appointed to the temporary rank of Skipper in January 1915. He joined the minesweeper trawler Trygon in the following month but she sank after a collision in the Clyde a few weeks later. Next appointed to the command of Kennymore, another minesweeper trawler, armed with a 6-pounder, he ended the war in command of the Admiralty trawler Crucis and was demobilised in July 1919.
