Joseph Durham a native of Maidenhead, Berkshire, was born in 1878 and enlisted for service with the Royal Engineers at Reading on 15 March 1915. He served with the Royal Engineers in France from 10 August 1915, and received a severe injury to his eye on 16 September 1918. He was discharged to Class ‘Z’ Reserve, 3 March 1919.

Joseph W. Winterbourne was born in Reading, Berkshire, and served with the Royal Berkshire Regiment during the Great War in France from 30 March 1915.
