Charles Jones was born at High Wycome, Buckinghamshire, the son of Charles and Laura Jane Jones, and enlisted in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War in France from 29 November 1914, and was wounded on 25 August 1915 whilst serving with the 6th Battalion. He died of wounds in the Persian Gulf, 8 April 1916, and is commemorated on the Basra Memorial, Iraq.

Frederick Jones was born at Gosport, Hampshire, the son of Charles and Laura Jane Jones, and enlisted in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Gosport. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War in the Asiatic theatre of War from 5 December 1914, and was twice wounded in Mesopotamia. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 11 September 1918, and is commemorated on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
