Henry George Nesbit served with the 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment during the Great War in France from 5 September 1914. Commissioned Second Lieutenant, and promoted temporary Lieutenant, 17 February 1915, he was killed in action on the Western Front on 23 March 1915, and is buried in Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, France.

Sold with the recipient’s diary for January to March 1915, and two telegrams informing the recipient’s widow of his death.

Joseph John Mullins was born at Isleworth, Middlesex, and enlisted for the East Surrey Regiment at London. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, and was killed in action on the Western Front on 25 April 1915, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.

John William Skelcher was born in Chastleton, Oxfordshire, and enlisted for the Army Cyclist Corps at Oxford. He served during the Great War with them, before transferring to the 5th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He died on the Western Front, 24 November 1916, and is buried in Gezaincourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
