Indar Singh was born on 13 August 1895 and served in the ranks of the Guides Cavalry from 13 August 1913 to 21 June 1920, being commissioned a Viceroy’s Commissioned Officer on 22 June 1920. Promoted Jemadar on 10 June 1922, and Risaldar on 15 September 1932, he served during the Second World War as a War Substantive Lieutenant with the 10th Queen Victoria’s Own Frontier Force, Guides Cavalry, Indian Armoured Corps from 11 January 1941, and was advanced Captain and acting Major on 25 March 1944.
