India General Service 1895-1902, 1 clasp, Relief of Chitral 1895 (48.. Pte. J. Wallace 2d. Bn. Seaforth Highrs); Queen’s Sudan 1896-98 (4817 Pte. J. Wallace. 1/Sea: Hrs.) with regimental cap badge, light contact marks overall, nearly very fine (lot) £280-320

James Wallace was born in Fyfe, Scotland, and attested for the Seaforth Highlanders on 24 January 1894. He served with the 2nd Battalion in India, December 1894 - January 1897, and transferred to the 1st Battalion for service in the Sudan (entitled Khedive’s Sudan), returning to the 2nd Battalion for service in South Africa (entitled QSA with ‘Cape Colony’, ‘Orange Free State’ and ‘Transvaal’ clasps). Discharged 28 January 1906, after 12 years service with the Colours. He re-engaged for service during the Great War, and served primarily with the Royal Defence Corps at Home, April 1916 - July 1918. Discharged 14 February 1919.
