Henry Lane was born at Cullompton, Devon, on 13 July 1860, and enlisted into the Royal Marines at Exeter on 13 January 1879. He served with the Royal Marines Battalion as part of the Egyptian Camel Corps in the Nile Expedition, from 17 September 1884 to 20 July 1885. One of only 13 medals with this single clasp to the Royal Marines. Sold with copied record of service and medal roll entry.
