Baltic 1854-55, unnamed as issued; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., wide suspension (John Beaton, Boats: Mate, H.M.S. Ganges. 22 Yrs.) claw re-fixed with solder on first, contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine (2) £500-700

John Beaton joined the Navy on 17 September 1823 as a Boy 2nd Class aboard H.M.S. Nimrod. He served aboard H.M.S. Ganges from January 1848 to January 1852, receiving his L.S. & G.C. medal during that period, before joining Boscawen in February 1854 for service in the Baltic. He was paid off from that ship and discharged from the service on 30 April 1857. Sold with copied record of service.
