An Unusual M.V.O. group of three awarded to Geoffrey Taylor, an ordained priest in the Russian Orthodox Church, who was employed as Private Secretary to the Iraqi Ambassador during the State Visit of King Faisal in 1956

The Royal Victorian Order, M.V.O., Member’s 5th Class breast badge, silver and enamels, reverse officially numbered ‘646’, in Collingwood case of issue; War Medal 1939-45; Iraq, Kingdom, Order of El Rafidain, 5th Class, civil division, breast badge, silver-gilt and enamel, in Garrard & Co. Ltd. case of issue, with mounted miniature British awards, good very fine (lot) £200-300

Geoffrey Lyndon Taylor a native of Halifax, was educated at Hipperholme Grammar School, and employed by the Foreign Office and the British Council. He was ordained a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church, prior to his appointment as Private Secretary to the Iraqi Ambassador in London. He was bestowed with his two awards as a consequence of the State Visit of King Faisal of Iraq to the UK in 1956.
