A 1912 Pattern Cavalry Officer’s Sword by Wilkinson (70459), a straight bright blade 89 cms etched with the crowned Royal Arms GVIR cypher, the owner’s initials ‘K.T.W.B.’ and scrolling foliate panels, the large sheet metal guard etched with standard pattern panels, shaped wire-bound fish skin hand grip complete with a gilt thistle end sword knot (earlier), together with its plated metal scabbard and field service leather bound scabbard, the plated scabbard with some surface rust areas otherwise very good condition (3) £300-500

Sold with copy of the Wilkinson Sword order book confirming that No 70459 was commissioned by ‘K.T.W.B.’ of the Royal Scots Greys on 13 May 1952.

Major Kenneth Thomas Walter Baker was born in 1920 and commissioned Second Lieutenant, Royal Scots Greys 3 July 1943 and advanced to Major 2 October 1955, retiring on 2 December 1969.
