97th (Earl of Ulster’s) Regiment Junior Officer’s Battalion Company Full Dress Epaulettes and Tin c. 1842 - 1855, a magnificent pair,the straps of gold regimental pattern lace gilt crescents and boxed bullions 8.3 cms long, gilt finial buttons displaying central XCVII within a crowned strap the Earl of Ulster’s Regt., Union sprays and the motto ‘Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt’, lined with red moroccan, crimson silk and velvet, retailed by W. Buckmaster, No. 3 New Burlington Street, London, contained in their original chamoix lined japanned metal carrying tin, though no distinction was shown between the rank of Ensign and Captain the length of the bullions probably indicates that these were for a Captain, near mint state £400-600
