The Monmouthshire Regiment 2nd Battalion Major W.F.J. Herbert M.C. Cased Set of Six Silver/Plated Shooting Spoons, three of the spoons are of similar pattern and HM Birmingham 1932, 35, 35, the bowls embossed with prone riflemen the hafts are comprised of crossed SMLE rifles with finials depicting the regimental badge and title, the reverses engraved to Lieut. Herbert; another HM 1935 with plain bowl, the haft again comprised of SMLE rifles, the finial of regimental cap badge style again engraved on the reverse with Herbert’s details; another with plain bowl and haft with Prince of Wales’s crest and motto finial on a blue enamel scroll ‘Glamorgan Rifle Association’ (chipped), engraved on the reverse with Herbert’s initials and the date and finally one in silver plate with a plain bowl, a haft inscribed ‘Look Forward’ and a finial featuring the badge of the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs; sold together with photocopy details of the 2nd Battalion the Monmouthshire Regiment, very good condition £80-120
