41st (Welch) Regiment Officer’s Helmet Plate 1878 - 1881, a very rare example, standard crowned eight pointed star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, enclosing on a ground of black velvet the Prince of Wales’s crest and motto over the numerals ‘41’, complete with three loop fasteners, verdigris has attacked all star finials and around the top of the crown otherwise the gilt is very good £250-350
