Imperial French Watercolour Drawings by L. Rousselot, the first is detailed on the reverse ‘Trompette des Dragons de la Garde 1806 - 1808’ and depicts a dismounted trumpeter in full dress standing alongside his grey charger, he wears a crested helmet with leopard skin turban and pale blue feather plume, pale blue coatee with white facings, white breeches and knee length boots, his trumpet slung from a cord and heavy cavalry sabre, his charger is complete with pale blue and orange coloured shabraque and holster covers (21 x 18 cms) contained in a good quality glazed wooden frame; the second is detailed on the reverse ‘Porte aigle des 1e Regt. de Chasseurs a pied de la Garde Imperiale’, the full length figure is depicted in full dress complete with bearskin, blue coatee, white breeches and spatterdashes, short sword, an ornamental sash for carrying the eagle which he holds in his right hand, (24 x 30.5 cms) now contained in a modern glazed frame, good condition (2) £100-150
