Sutlej 1845-46, for Ferozeshuhur 1845, no clasp (Drumr. William Crosse 29th. Regt.); Punjab 1848-49, 2 clasps, Chilianwala, Goojerat (Drumr. W. Cross, 29th. Foot) light file marks to edge of first and contact marks throughout, nearly very fine (2) £500-600

William Crosse attested for the 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment of Foot at Belfast on 1 November 1841, aged 14, and served with the Regiment in both the First and Second Sikh Wars, where he was wounded at the Battle of Ferozeshuhur, 21 December 1845- the 29th Foot as a whole suffered 55 officers and men killed in action and a further 188 wounded at Ferozeshuhur. He died in service at Chatham, Kent, on 24 May 1867.
