Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (4620 Sjt: Mr: Tlr: J. G. Holderness. Rifle Bde.) nearly very fine and scarce to rank £70-90

Provenance: DNW, September 2004.

Joseph George Holderness was born in 1869 and attested for the Royal Lancashire Regiment on 28 November 1887. He transferred to the Rifle Brigade on 20 September 1896, and was posted to the 4th Battalion. Awarded his Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1905, he was discharged on 31 March 1906, after 18 years and 124 days’ service, of which the last ten had been as Sergeant Master Tailor of the Battalion.

Sold together with a Rifle Brigade Officer’s pouch belt plate in silver.
