Kenneth Parry Buxton served on National Service in the Welsh Guards from October 1949 to November 1951, in which latter month he transferred to the Royal Artillery (Territorials). In July 1953, he re-enlisted in the Welsh Guards and, having served in South Arabia and been awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in 1969, was discharged as a Sergeant in the following year.
