James Dennis, a native of Swansea, landed in France in late January 1915, as a Sapper in the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers. Subsequently advanced to Sergeant, he was awarded his M.S.M. ‘In recognition of valuable services rendered with the armies in France and Flanders’ (London Gazette 18 January 1919, refers). He was discharged in January 1919; sold with copied research.
