Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, South Africa 1901 (7585 Pte. T. J. Jones, S. Wales Bord.), unofficial clasp rivets, polished, good fine £80-100

Thomas Jones, who was born in Abergavenny, Wales, enlisted in the South Wales Borderers in January 1900, aged 21 years, direct from the 4th (Militia) Battalion and his duties as a fireman. Drafted to the 2nd Battalion, he was embarked for South Africa, where, in March 1901, he transferred to Warren’s Mounted Infantry; sold with copied research.
