Horace Dixon Mayhew was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers in February 1892. Advanced to Captain in July 1896, he served in Cape Colony during the Boer War (Medal & 2 clasps) but resigned his commission on his return home in May 1903; sold with copied research.
