Brown half-leather, re-backed, gilt spine; a heavily grangerized copy with copious knowledgeable additions in a neat early 20th century hand and perhaps the full record of an excellent contemporary collection, 3 further pages of handwritten notes tipped-in. Spine rubbed, otherwise internally fine and worthy of further research [weight 1.2 kg] £150-200

From the associated provenance it is quite possible that this volume was the master for an intended revised and illustrated version of Atkins, for which a flyer was prepared in early 1921 (see Lot 3313)
