Frederick John Sandys Lindesay (1830-77), 3rd Dragoon Guards, 4th Hussars and 17th Foot, was a member of the Lindesay family of Loughry, co Tyrone, prominent archetypal Ulster Protestant ascendants settled in Ireland following the confiscation of the lands of the O’Neills of Ulster,
