Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Sixpence, Gp B, mm. cross on steps on obv., negro’s head [?] (over cross on steps) on rev., 2.72g/3h (SCBI Brooker –; N 2236; S 2807). Fair to fine, the overdate and combination of mintmarks very rare £80-100

The reverse mintmark is not entirely clear. The single specimen of this type in the Bole Collection was from a different pair of dies (DNW Auction 90, lot 85)
