Bond, 1911), 32mm, 36.38g; Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, Bennet medal, silver-gilt awards (4, one for the 1923 Autumn Meeting), all un-named, each 23mm; Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, Kennard Medal, silver-gilt awards (3), all un-named, each 23mm; The Royal North Devon Golf Club, a silver-gilt badge by Vaughton, un-named, hallmarked Birmingham 1938, 25mm; together with other uninscribed golf club silver-gilt medals (4), all 32mm and in the style of the first [13]. Very fine and better, an attractive group probably all to be associated with F.S. Bond; all with ribbons and means of suspension £600-800

First item only illustrated. F.S. Bond, of St George’s Hill, Weybridge, served as the fourth president of the English Golf Union in 1927 and as the third president of the Surrey County Golf Club, 1953-6. He was a prominent amateur during the years immediately before and after World War I. Worthy of further research
