The Peter Preston-Morley Library of Token Books, Akerman, J.Y., Tradesmen’s Tokens, current in London and its vicinity between the years 1648 and 1672, London, 1849, viii + 257pp, 8 engraved plates. Lacking binding; the whole book extensively annotated and amended by Preston-Morley as a direct copy of the volume of this reference owned by J.H. Burn, including a transcript of a letter from Benjamin Nightingale to Robert Boyne, 2 Dec. 1847, which describes Akerman as ‘analysing the BM Collection’; an interesting volume for the student of London tokens (£40-50)
