British, Royal Caledonian Curling Club, a silver District medal by Edwards & Sons, legend, rev. curling scene with eight players above arms of Scotland, 40mm (Brodie 433); together with other miscellaneous medals (2), one in silver [3]. First brilliant mint state, toned, with bar suspender, original blue ribbon and clasp, in white card box by R. & W. Sorley, medallists, St Vincent St, Glasgow; others fine and very fine (£50-70)

The first medal was awarded to R. Nichol, 57 Greenbank Road, Darlington, who was a member of the Darlington curling team in the match against Scarborough, played on 28 July 1909. Sold with original documentation from A. Davidson Smith, secretary of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club, and the original registered envelope in which the medal was sent from Edinburgh to the recipient in December 1909
