THE PRESTON-MORLEY BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COLLECTION, Wingrave [and] Rowsham Garden and Allotment Society, 1920, a uniface Art Deco badge with a black and white enamel centre, unsigned, flowers flanking a pillar, 52 x 35mm. Delightful style, extremely fine and very rare; with clip and ring for suspension (£20-30)

Provenance:
Glendining Auction, 30 January 1997, lot 1153 (part).

The only numismatic item from Wingrave, a village situated off the Aylesbury to Leighton Buzzard road, and the neighbouring hamlet of Rowsham, that the vendor has ever seen. The date, 1920, is probably that of the Society’s founding; the badge would appear to date to
c.1930
