THE PRESTON-MORLEY BUCKINGHAMSHIRE COLLECTION, Eton College, a bronze award medal for Tug of War, unsigned [by Birmingham Medal Co], similar, named (G. Akroyd), 39mm. Extremely fine; in official red fitted case with metal nameplate detailing the members of the 1916 Dry Bobs team coached by N.A. Pearson (£30-40)

Geoffrey Akroyd, 10st 6lb, of Charles Street, Mayfair, London, at Eton 1911-16. Akroyd went to the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and served as a Lt in the Royal Scots Greys in France at the end of the Great War. Subsequently he became a stockbroker.
