Viking Coinages, A Viking lead weight, perhaps for 2 Øre, with an Alfred the Great, Penny, Lunette type, Canterbury, Bernred, bernred moneta, secured reverse-side up to its top, waisted shape, height 15mm, 44.51g (cf. Archibald, BNJ 1998, pp.11-20). Fine, extremely rare and interesting (£500-700)

Found in N Ireland by a metal detectorist some 15 years ago, and in a private collection at Newtownards since. Sold with further documentation
