Provenance: Bt C.J. Wood February 1989.
Illustrated in G.L.V. Tatler, ‘The Bury Coinage of Edward I with the name of Robert de Hadeleie’, BNJ 68 (1998), pp.64-76. These irregular dies are frequently referred to as ‘local dies’, although there is no certainty about exactly where they were produced. Once regarded as possibly being contemporary imitations, these unusual coins have now been die-linked into the series of late class 3 (dies Ug, Eaglen 370)
