Isaac Young was born in Lymington, Hampshire. A Labourer by occupation and a member of the 3rd Hampshire Rifle Volunteers, he attested for the Hampshire Regiment at Gosport on 29 March 1886, aged 19 years. He served in India, October-November 1888; Burma, November 1888-February 1891; East Indies, February 1891-November 1893. Transferred to the 1st Class Reserve in December 1893 and discharged on 28 March 1898. With copied service papers - clasps confirmed.
